ELMIRA, N.Y. - February 4, 2017 - The Brampton Beast (24-15-2-3) scored three goals in just over three minutes late in the second period turning a 2-1 deficit into a 4-2 lead and win over the Elmira Jackals (9-31-5-0) Saturday night at First Arena.

The third game of this three-in-three between the North Division rivals started with fireworks, as Benjamin Dieude-Fauvel and Connor Crisp dropped the gloves just three seconds into the game. From there the Jackals played a strong first period, but still found themselves trailing after 20 minutes. The Beast took a 1-0 lead at 5:49 of the period on a goal from a bad angle. Lucas Venuto took a pass at the bottom of the left circle and spun one towards the goal. It somehow found the back of the net for a 1-0 Beast lead.

The Jackals responded with a strong start to the second period to forge a 2-1 lead. The line of Casey Thrush, Charlie Mosey and Matt Lane created the first goal with pressure in the offensive zone. Mosey took the puck at the right circle, delayed, and then pass it to the left post for a tap in for Thrush, tying the game 1-1 at 2:29 of the second.

Just over a minute later, the Jackals took their first lead on a transition goal by Sebastien Sylvestre. Mark Bennett started the play by racing down the right wing on a one-on-one. He drove to the net, faked a shot, and went beneath the goal line before sliding a pass to Sylvestre, who buried the puck into a wide open net for a 2-1 lead at 3:43

Elmira held the lead for over 10 minutes and then Brampton flipped the scrip with three goals in the final five minutes of the second period to take a 4-2 lead. Chris Leveille tied the game at 15:41, scoring moments after the Jackals successfully killed a Brampton power play. Then Chris Auger scored back-to-back goals from the slot at 17:34 and 18:51, giving Brampton the 4-2 lead after 40 minutes.

The Jackals failed to rally in the third period, dropping their third game against the Beast this week and falling to 0-7-1-0 against Brampton in 2016-17.
