Saturday November 19 vs. The Brampton Beast
The Brampton Beast (7-3-1-2) scored two early goals in the third period to break a 2-2 tie and defeat the Elmira Jackals (2-9-2-0), 5-3, at First Arena Saturday night.
The Beast took a 1-0 lead at 13:29 of the first period as David Pacan finished off a tic-tac-toe pass play to bury his eighth goal of the season.
The Jackals rallied to take the lead in the second period, using their special teams to their advantage. First, while on their first power play of the night, Brycen Martin fired home a rebound from the right circle for his first professional goal to tie the game at one. Sebastien Sylvestre and Cole Martin got the assists on the goal at 8:21. Later in the period, while shorthanded, Charlie Mosey intercepted a puck and began a 2-on-1 with Kenton Miller. Mosey got to the left circle before lifting a pass to Miller, who fired home a one-timer at the right circle to make it 2-1 Jackals. It was Miller's first goal as a Jackal and the team's first shorthanded goal of the season.
Brampton then turned that 2-1 deficit into a lead with three quick goals spanning the end of the second period and the start of the third. Chris Leveille pulled the Beast even at two with 42 second left in the second. Then David Vallorani scored twice in the span of 1:32 to start the third to give the Beast a 4-2 lead. Miller pulled the Jackals back within one at 6:57 of the third, but the Jackals couldn't complete the comeback. Brampton added an empty-net goal to make it a 5-3 final.
